Württemberg Model 1915 Enlisted Pickelhaube

Wuerttemberg Infantry Regiments - Model 1915. Recently purchased from the family of a US WWII vet. Black lacquered leather helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. Exterior lacquer is near perfect, with mirror finish. Interior has EM style undyed light brown leather that is in in excellent condition. The front and back visors respectively that are made of some ersatz material such as black painted. This is an unusual variant (see photos).

The frontplate is the Wurttemberg emblem in field gray. The frontplate is mounted with loops and original leather wedges. Model 1915 EM spike and base with domed retainers. With the date “1916” and size “58” inside the helmet bell. Undyed leather EM style chinstrap on M91 side lugs seems to be original. EM style Wurttemberg Black with Red band and Reichs Cockades. Very attractive rare wartime variant helmet. Excellent condition.
