French Dragoon Officer Model 1874 Helmet

Beautiful metal helmet body that retains all of its original nickeling. Fire Git brass Bandeau with Laurel leaves and the flaming grenade in it center. The top Cimier has the medusa head on the frontal part surrounded with interlacing snakes. Original Black Horse mane of officers grade. The chinscales are the fancy "Laurel Leaves" type stamped in gilt brass and mounted on Velour.

A "Marguerite" Model 1874 holds the chinstrap to the helmet body with a bayonet type key system. Inner liner of full officers grade with the gilt "Doré au Fer" pattern. Both front and back visors retain there original thin leather linings (green "basane" on front and white in the back). Original Blue White and Red plumet with officer grade "olive" on its left side. Stone mint helmet. Impossible to upgrade.
