Saxon Field Artillery Officer Pickelhaube
Original Helmet that needs some TLC
Saxon Field Artillery Regiment Officers Pickelhaube. Black lacquered leather helmet body with gilt trim. Helmet body has good form and firm stitching with the top front part slightly sunken towards the front. This can easily be fixed by a professional. Exterior lacquer is in good condition with only a couple of minor flaws (see pictures). Interior of helmet has Fancy sweat leather -silk string trough leather- and green silk headliner complete in excellent to perfect condition.
No extra holes in helmet body. Front plate is the Saxon fire gilt star and silver center device. Four gold stars (two are modern replacement) at base of helmet. Balltop is removable. A set of convex chinscales on rosettes. Special non-seratted Saxon and Reichs officers cockades. This helmet is an original and untouched. Great WWI era Saxon Officers helmet that needs some TLC.
