Württemberg Infantry "Einjahr Freiwilliger" / Private purchase Pickelhaube

Wurttemberg private purchase helmet for NCO or Fahnrich Model 1897. Black lacquered leather body with round front visor and gold trim. Helmet has good form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is in excellent shape. Interior has sweat leather lining and silk headliner in near mint condition, just a bit dirty. No extra holes in helmet body. 

Round spike base with 4 gold brads at the spike base. Tall smooth spike that is removable. Front plate is an officer quality fire gilt Wurttemberg crest with the Stag and Lion holding the Wurttemberg code of arms. Special type fine leather strap on M1891 lugs. Original Reichs and Wurttemberg cockades. A beautiful and untouched helmet. Salty but absolutely 100% original.

NB. Inside the liner was a german paper tag that was likely written by the person that acquire dthe helmet initilaly from the family of the fallen Soldier "Oskar Röhm" enrolled in the 125th Wurt. Inf. Regt. and fallen in Longwy France.
