Hessen 23/24th Dragoon Officer Pickelhaube to Parade

Hessen 23 and 24 Dragoon Regiments (The Grand Duke of Hessen Regiments who were both Hdq. In Darmstadt) – Officer to Parade – Model 1897. Black lacquered fiber bodied with silver metal trim. Firm stitching and no extra holes in the helmet body. The helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. The exterior lacquer is MINT and still shiny. Officer style sweat leather and silk headliner.

Silver metal trim is uncleaned. The frontplate is the wreathed Hessen Lion in silver metal with the unique Hessen "North/South" fixtures. Hessen style cross base mounted with silver star retainers (Larcade mentions in his book that Hessen Dragoon regiment after 1915 would start to wear Stars instead of round studs). The special Hessen fluted plume trichter on which is mounted a black Yak hair parade plume. Rounded silver chinscales on silver rosettes. Impressive and Rare Elite regimental helmet. Untouched and 100% original.
