Hessen Line Infantry Regiment - Officer to – Model 1897. Black lacquered leather body with gold metal trim. Firm stitching and no extra holes in the helmet body. The helmet body has good form and firm stitching. Back visor shows some wear and tear by the stitching on right side. No extra holes in helmet body. Officer style sweat leather and silk headliner that has tears and show much use.

Brass metal trim is uncleaned. The frontplate is the wreathed Hessen Lion in gilded metal. Hessen style cross base mounted with gold domed retainers. Special Hessen fluted spike on top of cross base. Slightly rounded gold chinscales on gold rosettes. Officer style Reichs and non-serrated Hessen cockades. Rare Hessen style helmet that shows age and genuine use.
