Saxon 12th Reserve Train Abteilung Officer Pickelhaube

Saxon 12th (Dresden) or 19th (Leipzig) Train Regiment Reserve Officer Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilt trim. Helmet body has perfect form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer is flawless in near mint condition. Interior of helmet has sweat leather and green silk headliner complete in excellent condition. Green silk has the gold embossed mark of the maker. Paper maker mark in helmet body (see photos). There are 2 extra holes for the erier Line Plate in helmet body. The helmet was returned to the fabricator who relacquered the helmet body. The holes can be seen on interior shot (see photos). Front plate is the Saxon fire gilt star and silver center device along with silver reserve cross. All trim retains most of its fire gilting. Gold stars at base of helmet. Beautiful rounded gilt chinscales on rosettes. Special non-seratted Saxon and Reichs cockades. This helmet is 100% original and untouched. Wonderful Saxon Officers helmet from a rare regiment at a bargain price.
