Wonderful and 100% original Prussian General Officer

Prussian General Officer for service dress and parade with fluted spike and trichter for the black and white cock feathered plume - Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilded brass metal trim. The helmet has perfect form and firm stitching. External lacquer in very good condition with gentle dulled age finish  to lacquer. No extra or widened holes in the helmet body. The helmet interior has soft sweat leather and fine smooth silk headliner. Inner visors color red and green.

Fire gilded Crossed spike base with star retainers. The frontplate is the massive gilded Prussian Guard Eagle with a silver star of the Prussian Black Eagle Order with enameled center. Crossed spike base that is mounted with fluted Prussian style spike for service wear. For parade dress it has a fluted “General style” trichter mounted with a black and white cock feathered plume.  The plume shows age and feather loss but is 100% original.  Rounded gilded chinscales with rosettes. Officer style Reichs and Prussian cockades. Wonderful and 100% original Prussian General Officer helmet that has never been cleaned or polished. The helmet shows gentle aging for it over 100 years of age.
