Bavarian Chevau-Leger Officers Pickelhaube

Bavarian Cavalry Officer Model 1897 Pickelhaube. Beautiful and absolutely virgin and untouched. Black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilt trim. Helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior lacquer still has its polished sheen in MINT condition. Interior has the officer sweat leather and beige colored silk headliner in absolute MINT condition. Square front visor lined in green, back visor lined red. No extra holes in helmet body.
Gold frosted finish has definitely never been cleaned or polished. Fire gilt crossed spike base with officers pearlring and removable fluted spike. Frontplate is the Bavarian Gilt Frosted Wappen surrounded by two Lions with the "In treue fest" banner. Rounded gilt chinscales with rosettes. Officers Reichs and Bavarian cockades. Pristine Helmet, exceptional to find in today's market place. Absolutely 100% Original and Untouched helmet.
This helmet was purchased from a private collector that sold it along the Chevau-Leger Uniform from Graph von Arco auf Valley - the name tag from the unifom we could take a picture, unfortunately the uniform and pants were already commited to another buyer! Wikipedia states he was in the Bavarian Leib Regiment...well we took this picture from a Chevau-Leger Uniform. Note that the name tag is pictured only for info. Not part of this auction.
