Prussian General a la Suite Officers Pickelhaube to Parade
Rarely found helmet.
Prussian General a la Suite Officer with Black and White feathered parade plume and proper fluted trichter - Model 1897. From the Rich Ames Collection. Black lacquered leather helmet with squared front visor and fine frosted German Silver metal trim. The helmet has perfect form and firm stitching. External lacquer shows some age wear and cracks, but otherwise good finish. No extra holes in the helmet body and removal of the helmet plate shows deep impression in leather. The helmet interior has sweat leather and silk headliner with an embroidered latter “A” in the silk. Inner visors color red and green.
Crossed German Silver spike base with gold star retainers. Silver fluted trichter is the same type used by General Officers. White and Black cock feathered parade plume. The plume is original but shows some feather loss. The frontplate is the massive silver frosted Prussian Guard Eagle with a silver star of the Prussian Black Eagle Order with enameled center. Rounded silver chinscales with silver rosettes. Officer style Reichs and Prussian cockades. Original Prussian General Officer helmet to parade that has not been cleaned or polished. General Staff helmets is a rarely found in the collectors market. The helmet shows gentle aging for its over 100 years of age.
