Outstanding Prussian Artillery General.
Prussian Artillery General - Model 1897. The helmet is uncleaned and unpolished. Black lacquered leather helmet body with gilded metal trim. The helmet has fine form and firm stitching. External lacquer is lightly crazed due to age but no lacquer loss. There are no extra holes in the helmet body. The helmet interior has soft sweat leather and silk headliner. The sweat leather has a tear in the back (see photos).
Inner visors color red on back but white on front. Inside the helmet bell is the makers label "WSH Marke" with an Imperial 3 color flag and the size 59 1/2. Crossed spike base with artillery ball top (see photos). The base has gold star retainers. The frontplate is the massive, fired gilded Prussian Guard eagle with enameled Guard star on the breast of the eagle. Rounded gold chinscales on rosettes. Officer Prussian and Reichs cockades.
