High quality pre-war construction. Beautiful and near mint condition group. Dark green wool with red trim and piping. Chevron on right sleeve and 4th squadron button on shoulder strap. Loops on left side of chest for decorations. Bavarian NCO collar buttons. Pants with wide red piping on side. White lacquered leather parade belt. Amazing and rare complete ensemble. Impossible to find today in this condition.

Classic rattan formed and black fur busby with field gray trim. Line regiments banner in field gray. Original leather chinstrap gray buckles. Single EM Reichs cockade on the right side. Prussian field badge. Red bag on top with white cords on the right side. Full standard hussar cut leather liner.Maker marked on top with Army Corps mark inside leather liner. HESSEN INFANTRY EM PICKELHAUBE Hessen Infantry Enlisted man Model 1860-71. Helmet type used during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Heavy black lacquered leather body with brass trim. Traditional "hessen" helmet style with equal cross base, round front visor, and special Hessen style fluted spike. 100% original and unaltered. Complete with chinscales on early style rosettes and large single Hessen state cockade. Leather liner. No extra holes in body. Special style "hessen" nuts for screws inside helmet. FRENCH CUIRASSIER NCO HELMET Mle. 1874 Nice French "Casque a Cimier" for Cuirassier NCO. Beautiful cooper shell with original silvering. Brass Cimier with black horsetail -replaced- and Marmouset bearing the red "brush". Original brass chinscales and Red "plumet" with squadron colored olive. BAVARIAN UHLAN TSCHAPKA Bavarian 2nd Uhlan Regiment Non Commissioned Officers helmet circa 1900. Beautiful full black lacquered leather helmet with leather topped mortar board. Body has firm stitching and has near perfect black lacquer finish. Silver metal trim including front plate , M91 posts and rounded silver chinscales fit over posts. Single NCO style Reichs cockade and original Bavarian blue/white field badge. Fuller leather liner. Clearly marked on the inside "2 U.R. 1906" inside leather top. Impressive helmet. A rare find. BAVARIAN OFFICER PICKELHAUBE Wonderful Near MINT Bavarian Infantry Officer Model 1886-96. Black "fiber" helmet body with square front visor trim. Beautiful form and firm stitching. Slight cave-in on top as usual on cross-base spikes,but otherwise perfect. All gilt metal trim. Beautiful gold frosted Bavarian frontplate (one small crown broke of left lion) with cross base and fluted spike. Convex chinscales on rosette retainers. Both Reichs and Bavarian officer style cockades. Sweat leather and silk headliner wich retain some old straw inside most likely used at the time as buffer. Complete and 100% original in every detail. Beautiful high quality black lacquered leather body with bright silver trim. Dragoon style helmet body in excellent shape with fine finish and strong stitching. Extra fine silver fittings with large Bavarian front plate, removable fluted spike, star studs, rounded chinscaled strap, and a square front visor trim. Complete with both Reichs and Bavarian style officer cockades. Sweat leather and silk headliner shows wear, but in good shape and still supple. PRUSSIAN TRAIN BATTALION SHAKO 2nd Prussian Train Battalion Enlisted Mans shako pre 1903. Rare leather type shako used by the Train Battalions from 1863 (AKO 27 January 1863) until 1903 ( AKO 25, may 1903). Firm black lacquered leather shako with brass trim. Helmet in the style of the Model 1860's but with M1891 side lugs. Stitching firm. Prussian line frontplate missing orb. Original field badge with one small tear on top back (see photo). Original chinstrap with Reichs cockade on right side. Full leather liner in good shape. Marked on inside with the wearers ID tag, " Gem... Luebcky 2 Kp. Pom. Train Btl. 2" *umlaut substituted with "ue". This is the 2nd Pommeranian Train Battalion from the II Army Corps, founded in 1853 and headquartered in Alt-Damm. Replacement black horse hair plume on silver EM style trichter. Original leather liner that is complete but dry. Marked on back "E R II 2B 11C" and then "E R 3 8C". Type used by many officers in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Black lacquered helmet body with gilt brass trim. Helmet body has excellent form with tight stitching. Lining standard period officer flat tabbed leather liner with drawstring. Visors colored green and red. Fire gilt Prussian line front plate. Standard officers style spike with star stud retainers. Flat chinscales or rosettes with single Prussian Officer cockade as was used in this era. No back spine as war proper for this pattern. 100% original. Rare helmet type.
