Silver frosted frontplate in extra "leicht" manufacturing retained by two split brads as was usual for later helmets. NO extra holes whatsoever. trim all around. Crossbase and fluted officers type spike that unscrews. Silver retaining stars. Silver convex chinscales over both original cokades. Callfskin and silk lining. Untouched and all original.

Prussian NCO Jaeger zu Pferd helmet. 100% original helmet. Chromed metal body of officers quality in excellent shape with minor flacking/spots to finish. Small dent repair on the back part at the spine level. Front and back visors of officer quality with the back lined in grey silk. Officer stepped front visor. High quality tombac trim with original fire gilt eagle and tombac spike mounted on cloverleaf base. Officers convex chinscales also in tombac with officer type mounting screws. Original Reichs/Prussian cockades. Calf skin lining supple and in excellent to mint condition. No extra holes. All 100% original in "as found" condition. Extremely hard to find genuine helmets in fine condition.

Prussian Mounted (Reitende) Landesgendarme NCO Model 1871. Large heavy black lacquered leather helmet body with fine bright gi;t brass colored metal trim. Helmet body extremely large (size 62) older pattern in excellent shape with firm stitching. and squared front visor trim Original black finish to leather in excellent shape with no damage or flaking. Prussian Guard Eagle with silver guard star on breast. Cross spike base with removable spike. Complete with leather liner in excellent condition. Marked inside helmet body with deeply stamped " L. G. 1890". Heavy rounded chinscales stamped "L G" on the end on screws. Both cockades. No extra holes. Small period repair to front visor trim. Shows genuine little use. The Landesgendarme were military police units that patrolled the Reichslaender (Imperial Lands) such as Alsace and Lorraine. Helmet looks exactly like the 1st Guard Dragoon helmet. Extremely rare helmet and exceptional condition.

Original Fire Gilt "cimier" of officers quality with the proper "Marmouset" with red horse hair -also of the finer finish for officer. Black horsehair running from the back of the cimier that is also original to helmet. Black sealskin turban that has some wear to the front nonetheless totaly original to this helmet. Officer grade chinchains retaining most of their gilting attatched to fine leather backing. Inside lining with heavy wear, but mostly present. Rare and beautiful helmet. Untouched and all original. Note that the feather plume does not come with this sale.

Imperial Austrian Dragoon Officer helmet circa 1900. Exterior in near mint condition. Elegant thinly stamped metal helmet body that is black lacquered. Fittings are beautifully gold fire gilded. High metal comb with bas relief lion subduing a serpent. Front plate is double headed Austrian eagle. Chinscales are stylized leaves. Interior has officer style sweat leather and silk headliner. Small tear in sweat leather as evidenced in photo. Outstanding helmet.

Black lacquered leather helmet body with Gilt/Brass trim. Convex gold chinscales on Gold rosettes with split rosette attachement. Leather body in excellent form/condition with only minor crazing and firm stitching to both visors. Original Hessen and Reichs Cockades. Inside liner of officer type in near mint condition. Front plate of officer's grade totally original to helmet as testifyed by marks left underneath in leather.
