Outstanding and Rare Helmet
Prussia Jaeger zu Pferde Officer from the 8-13 Regiments Model 1902 (the founding year). From the Rich Ames Collection. Kurassier style has a nickeled steel helmet body with gilded brass trim. The helmet body has perfect form and bright nickeled finish. Nickel has so dulled spots but no rusting. The helmet interior has brown sweat leather with white silk headliner. The interior of the back visor is covered with black velvet.
The front visor is lined with green colored cloth. The front plate is a bright gilt frosted Prussian Dragoon style eagle with screw backs. The spike and base are kurassier style but with the base and fluted spike top in gold and the throat of the spike being nickeled. This is proper for the JzP officers. The heavy rounded chinscales and cloverleaf rosettes are fire gilt. Large Officer Reich and Prussia cockades. Outstanding and RARE helmet.
