Prussian 1st Garde Dragoon Reserve Officers Pickelhaube with Haarbush

Prussian 1st Guard Dragoon - Officer - Model 1871/97. An out of the woodwork find. The helmet is the squared front visor Dragoon Style black lacquered leather helmet body with all gold metal trim. Helmet body in good condition with good stitching to front visor, back visor is loose on one side. Exterior lacquer remains in excellent condition and still shiny. There are extra holes in helmet body, the helmet previously wore a active duty frontplate and later switched to the reserve eagle without banner. The Prussian Guards Eagle has left deep impression in the helmet body as evidenced in photos.
Interior has sweat leather and silk headliner. Both sweat leather and silk headliner show minor age and use (See photos) but mainly slightly dirty. Inner visors red and green as is normal for officer helmets. The back vsior is named to the Officer "D. Div. Von Nagtigal 1885". All metal trim is highly fire gilt. The frontplate for the helmet is the Guards Prussian Eagle with the Star of the Prussian Black Eagle Order on the eagle’s chest and Silver Reserve Cross at the base. Crossed spike base with tall smooth gold trichter. A nicely furbiched white Yack Haarbush on top. Gold stars secure the spike base to helmet body. Rounded gold chinscales on gold rosettes. Officer Reichs and Prussian cockades. This helmet has not been cleaned or polished.
