Mecklenburg 14th Jäger Batallion Officer Shako.

Mecklenburg-Schwerin 14th Jäger Regiment (Hdq: Colmar in Alsace) Officer Shako, Model 1897. Officer quality black felt covered leather shako with gilded brass metal trim. The helmet body is in near mint condition with fine form and firm stitching. No extra holes in helmet body. The cloth portion of the shako is n ear perfect with only a couple of minor flaws but has no moth damage or tears.
Interior has officer style sweat leather and beautiful beige silk headliner just a bit dutsy. The liner shows only minor age and use but is in overall excellent to near mint condition. The frontplate is the Mecklenburg Schwerin gold star with silver heraldic arms in the center. Flat chinscales on rosettes. Single Officer style Reichs cockade. Fine officer silver bullion and checked blue and red center Feldzeichen.
The Mecklenburg Schwerin 14th Jaeger was a very small unit with few officers. This is a very RARE and beautiful officers shako. 100% original and untouched officer’s shako.
