Hessen 115th Leib-Infantry Regiment - NCO Pickelhaube

Hessen 115th Lifeguard Infantry Regiment (The Grand Duke of Hessen Regiment) – Private Purchase/Einjahr Freiwilliger– Model 1897. Black lacquered leather helmet with silver metal trim. The helmet body is in near mint condition with firm stitching and no extra holes in helmet body. Inside is the officer style sweat leather and silk headliner in virtually MINT condition. Inside leather visors are natural colored. German Silver metal trim that was left untouched/uncleaned as found.
The frontplate is the frosted silver double wreathed Hessen Lion with the guard star of Hessen on the lion’s breast. Above the frontplate the special silver commemoration bandeau with "1621" indicating the founding year of the Regiment. Hessen style cross base mounted with silver brad retainers. The special Hessen style fluted spike is removable. Flat silver chinscales with silver rosettes. Stamped metal serrated Reichs cockade and non-serrated EM. Beautiful helmet from an elite regiment.
