Hanoverian 10th Jäger Reserve Officers Pickelhaube

Rare unit with an even rarer Reserve configuration.

Hanoverian 10th Jaeger Battalion Reserve Officer Model 1899 (Banners authorized in 1899). From the Rich Ames Collection. Officer quality black felt covered leather shako with gilded brass metal trim. The helmet body is in near condition with perfect form and firm stitching. The leather portions of the shako are lightly crazed with age but have no lacquer loss. No extra holes in the helmet body. The interior of the shako has officer style sweat leather with silk ribbon and off-white silk headliner that is in excellent condition.

The frontplate is the fire gilded small sized Prussian Line Eagle that is without the normal “Mitt Gott fur Koenig und Vaterland” banner. On the helmet frontplate is placed the banners “Waterloo – Peninsula – Venta Del Pozo” for the Battalions that served in the English Kings German Legion during the Napoleonic Wars. On the tail of the frontplate Eagle is the Prussian style Reserve Cross in Silver. Flat gilt chinscales with gold rosettes. Single Officer style Reichs cockade. Fine officer silver bullion with black center. Nearly mint Shako that is 100% all original and untouched. Rare unit with an even rarer Reserve configuration.
