Bavarian Infantry Officers Pickelhaube

Bavarian Line Infantry or Chevau-Leger Officer Model 1897 (circa 1915). From a prestigous US collection. Beautiful black lacquered leather helmet body with fire gilded metal trim. The helmet body is in excellent condition and firm stitching. No extra holes in the helmet body. The exterior finish is near flawless but the interior shows age and wear.

The interior of the helmet has wartime quality sweat leather and silk headliner that shows wear and has tears in the sweat leather and silk (see photos). Inner visors colored red and green. Officers cross base maintained by 3 stars which is proper for Bavarian officer helmets. Extra Tall fluted officer spikes that unscrews. Fine Bavarian Officer frontplate on the front of helmet. Semi-convex officer chinscales (regulation after 1915) maintained by rosettes. Both Reichs and Bavarian Officer Cockades. On the outside this is a beautiful helmet. Bargain priced.
